Maybe Not Always

There is no Wal-Mart in Germany. Well, not for long anyway. I'm not disappointed, though. If I'm going to a different country, I expect things will be quite different. And what's the point in moving to a completely different culture...where's the wonder, adventure and unusual experience in going to another Wal-Mart in Germany??

I have a feeling that walking into a Wal-Mart in Germany would feel something like a time machine that jars me back to the U.S. to my "before Germany" days. If I'm going to move, it's all or nothin'. Take my Wal-Marts, Hy-Vees and Applebee's and I'll find that, yes, the Lord is the same everywhere!

(Thanks for the info, Bergens'!)

When I traveled through Germany (only 10 days) I felt like I was traveling through a fairy tale. You'll love it.

They have McDonalds...............

I've sworn off McDonalds...but, it'll be nice to see it anyway! (and I bet I'll give in...) When Jim and I were out there for our "survey trip" I loved it. I lived there for about 4 years when I was a kid, and I remember a lot, but it'll be different living there as an adult and take it all in!

I thought I remembered you telling me you lived there when you were little, but I wasn't sure...

I don't do McDonald's either, but its nice to know there is something "American" over there ;-P

I went to Walmart in Germany--I about passed out when I saw a sign for it in JENA (where I lived)...still had German products...nothing American, except in the American section, which isn't actual American brands...just American product types...peanut butter, marshmallows, etc...and, not a very big section! However, I am excited to see them go! :)
