Bye Bye Bilbo, Hello Meg

Yesterday we had to take Bilbo back to the Public Library. Sad. It was such an empty day today, not being able to visit Middle-Earth for a spell and join Bilbo for an adventure or two (or three or four, etc.).

Jim and I have been reading "The Hobbit or There and Back Again" by J.R.R. Tolkien. We read outloud to eachother to and from work or whenever we have a long trip. Talk about an exciting adventure! A Dragon (Smaug), trolls, a wise wizard, dwarves and a little hobbit make for entertaining company!

Although our Middle-Earth adventure is over, I've begun another with Meg in "A Wrinkle in Time," by Madeleine L'Engle, which looks to be quite the exciting undertaking as well.

I've read both...I read A Wrinkle in Time when I was in middle school I think?? All I really remember about it was that I couldn't put it down and ended up staying up until 3 in the morning (unbeknownst to my parents of course!) reading it--it was over summer vacation.

Good idea reading to each other. You'll have plenty of practice for if you ever have kids! ;-P

Those are some good books. I can't wait till my kids are old enough for The Hobbit. :)
