I want to go to New York City.
About this time last year (actually, it was in October - so I'm a little ahead of myself) we were driving to New York City. We stayed in Queens for several wonderful weeks. It's strange the peace that is harbored in a Christian home in the middle of bustling city life. That is what our time in New York City was like. Peaceful. And I want to go back.
Funny thing is, we got an invitation to go back to a church in New York that we visited a year ago. So, I'm hoping my little dream of a New York Visit will soon come true.
Another funny thing. Have you ever realized what you are truly happy doing right in the middle of not doing it. Well, I think - as difficult as traveling is - I love it. And I miss it. It's only been about 5 months since we've been in one place and I'm already itching to go. Just ask Jim how many times I've said "I want to go to Michigan. Doesn't it feel like it's time to pack up and drive?" or "Don't you want to go to Wisconsin? I do."
I love meeting people, sharing our hearts and burden about Germany with them, listening to them share their hearts with us. BUT, it's apparent to me that God wants us to stay put (like Joshua), meet people where we are, share our hearts with those nearest us and hear their hearts, too. What was it Paul said? Be content, whatever state you are in? That goes for the contiguous United States, as well...I'm sure. *wink*
So, maybe we'll go to New York soon...that would be wonderful. But, for now. I need to love where I am...more.

Happy Bad Poetry Day
How can "Bad Poetry Day" be happy, you ask?
Well...it made me laugh.
Here's my contribution. It's terrible, I know. What better way to celebrate Bad Poetry Day. Mrs. Means, my High School English teacher, this is for you.
Today I celebrate
my love for words
by writing about my experience
with Culver's Cheese Curds.
Greasy, fatty, cheesey within-
Crunchy, crispy, sizzling without-
This is what Bad Poetry is all about.

New Jobs and other Random Bits.
So, I started this New Job on Monday. It's part-time...and I like my Hubby Time and Friend Time, too. So, that seems to leave little time for posting. So, excuse my absence, but I must adjust to my new schedule and hopefully, I'll be a more faithful blogger.
By the way, my ICL Prof like my story...except she didn't call it a story. It doesn't count for a story. It's more a of a vignette, she said. True, true. Most stories have a plot. Mine was, well...it just was.
Jim and I went to the Iowa State Fair yesterday (for free). It was completely awesome. Fifteen straigt HOURS of complete awesomeness, to be exact. More on that later.
And did you know that in British/English French Fries are called "Chips" and Chips are called "Crisps?"
And that today is "Sneak some Zucchini onto your Neighbors Porch Night?" We don't have Zucchini, so we can't participate. *sigh*
BUT, it's also "Dollar Day" - the day the US dollar was created. Hmm...how can I celebrate that?
Fear not, though. It's "Admit you're Happy Day", too...and that's free.
And for the girls...it's "Girls Night Out." So, go out and do something crazy. (Legal Crazy, and Moral Crazy that is.)
;)
