All Too Familiar

It's fall. Again. And it's all too familiar for me.

I can't tell you how many Iowa falls I have lived (well, maybe I can - I just don't want to do the math). And each year...the same feelings are evoked by the same cool, brisk air. The same darkening skies. The same desires to run again. It IS cross country season, right? The same fleeting memories of marching band. The same, the same, the same.

And you know what? It's not supposed to be "the same" anymore. My heart longs for change...I guess I was called to be a missionary. It's clear to me that I'm ready. Ready to take the next step and create new familiarities...a fresh "same thing."

But, first things first. God wants me to experience another Iowa fall...and, like anything, I ought to embrace it with thanksgiving. Because all too soon - the "all too familiar" - will be a bajillion miles away. And I'll be missing it.

Gorgeous photo!

I have yet to experience a "real" fall. Right now fall for me is 87 degrees. Oh well. Maybe one day! :)

Beautiful blog. Fall is my favorite time of year... no matter my geographical location.

What a beautiful flower shot! Great composition... leads you directly to the subject. Lovely bokeh, too.

Your post reminds me of how much I miss living up north. Fall here in TX is nothing compared to fall up there, but there's always beauty to be found in ALL places. =)

Delurking... Enjoy every minute of the fall! Once on the mission field I missed the change of seasons the most! (and texmex food.)
