Hey Random Dozen Friends! It's late as I type this. I mostly type things late, anyway - so excuse my answers if they're....weird. Hehe.
♥ On an average, how often do you splurge and buy something for yourself?
♥ On an average, how often do you splurge and buy something for yourself?
Whenever I go to Michael's Craft Store, or shop on Etsy...which is pretty much, monthly.
♥ Are you more like Hall or Oates? Eh? I could google these names, but I'm too lazy. Just kidding. Real question: What is the last creative project you began/finished? Feel free to post a pic of it.
Ummm, goodess. I started knitting this adorable purse LAST YEAR. And started knitting Josefine a cable blanket (also LAST YEAR).
♥ OK, Goldie Locks, do you consider your house too big, too little or juuuust right?
Just right...anywhere God puts me is just right... :)
♥ What is your favorite outdoor chore?
Photoshoots! I know it prbly doesn't fit into the "chore" category, but it's my favorite thing to do outside...I don't think I've done an outdoor chore for sometime now...being on the road - we can't have a thriving garden - but, if we did, I'd say my favorite outdoor "chore" would be harvesting the fruits (or veggies) of our labors!
♥ If you knew that cigarette smoking was not bad for your health but would be a weight loss tool, would you use it? Why or why not?
Since you put it like that - if it wasn't bad for ones health - then, would it be a disgusting habit??? I'd say, if it wasn't bad for my health, I'd probably try it for weight loss...I dunno. Wait, though. I guess you didn't say it wasn't still addicting and smelly. I mean, it IS still smoke. So, probably not. ~I'm so wishy-washy, I know. But, that's my answer and I'm stickin' to it. ;)
♥ On a road trip, would you rather drive or ride?
My life is road trip - and I'm all about riding and not driving!
♥ What do you consider a trivial pursuit?
What's trivial to one person may actually be really important to another person. Like Sky Diving, for instance. I would NEVER, EVER do it. Stu-pid, in my (trivial) opinion. My hubby, on the other hand, would do it in an instant...if I let him. ;)
♥ How long do you watch a movie or read a book before giving up on it?
If it's inappropriate in the least - I don't wait it out. Not me...not in my house. Uh-uh. So, so, so serious about that. But, if it's just boring or stupid...I might wait it out, cause ya never know if something interesting might happen!
♥ Is there a song that you really love but are embarrassed to admit because it's not cool or it's racy or because it's by Hall and Oates?
I don't think I'm embarrassed to admit that I like any song...and WHO are Hall & Oates again??? But, I do love the Beach Boys...that may be something my friends would be surprised about...perhaps.
♥ On a scale of 1-10 (10 = extremely) how spontaneous are you?
8.5
I'm spontaneous to a degree...but, I have my limits, too.
♥ Are you a food and/or beverage snob?
Before my pregnancy...neither. Now, things just don't taste the same. But, if I were more picky about one of the other, I'd say "beverage."
♥ Who/What are you trying to control in your life?
This took some serious introspection. Probably everything. If I know myself and admit what's true...I'm a control freak, through and through. It's a good thing I have God's grace - that sustains me and reminds me daily that I'm not in control...He is. And He is trustworthy...I can trust Him with the "everything" I often try to control myself. And in that daily recognition that God is fully capable, I'm humbled and enjoy learning that flexibility is key in trusting...letting go...and not "needing" to be in control.
Thanks for that last question, Linda. :) I needed that.
...and because a post is ALWAYS better with (another) picture...

Great knitting job. Seriously. I should have picked your outdoor chore! Why didn't I think of that? :) And my word! Your baby is precious!
Nice to meet you too!!
Greetings! I love your response to the house questions. And our responses to #12 are almost identical. lol Blessings, SusanD
I didn't link up this week but now I'm wishing I did - those are some good questions!
Think I've told you this before but I WISH I COULD KNIT!
Love,
Your fellow control freak friend ;)
You've got a great start on those knitting projects...keep it up! Who cares if you started them a year ago? They're lookin' GOOD!
Many of our answers are similar, like the outdoor chore and the conclusion you came to on the cigarette diet. ;-)
I do like your road trip answer, too.
And what a sweet picture of your baby!
Nice to *meet* you!
Love the picture at the end.
LOL at all the Hall and Oates mentions.
I love your outdoor chore answer :-) Wish I'd thought of that.
Oooo, the Beach Boys! Going to have to go listen to watch some youtube now :-)
Good answer with #12.
Wondering, are you on deputation? We arrived on the field last year so deputation is still fresh in my mind. NOT missing all the traveling at all! :-)
If you knit your two projects together it would make a beautiful scarf I'm sure. :) hehe.
I wish I could knit.
Good answer for #12.. haha. If I was honest, I couldn't admit that there is nothing I don't want to control!
So funny.....I saw you post title when I got up this morning....I had my random dozen set for a scheduled post, so it had already been posted so I swear I wasn't copying you ;) Great minds....apparently know nothing about Hall & Oates ;)
That cable blanket really is phenomenal.
Love your last answer... so true!
I always enjoy reading your answers! You've got so much energy and JOY for life!
And... Amen to #12!
Love your "add a pic" feature! You young people have me banging my head over Hall and Oates. Sigh. Great answers. I like your "no compromise" when it comes to inappropriate movies, etc.
I so get you on the last question. Right in the same place.
Love all the baby pics. She's adorable! :)
Love your answers. They're sage from someone so young! Lovely photo of Josefina at the end. Makes me smile. I remember those days well.
And answer 12 -- I have virtually the same answer, but it is so refreshing to read this answer from someone in your age group! It took me 20 more years than you to realize this! I guess I'm a slow learner. :0
