Rand♥m D♥zen: Me & Me Meme

♥ Tell me something about your favorite teacher.
Honestly, I couldn't stand her at first. Because she called me out on the first day of class for chewing gum. She was my high school English teacher. She was tough in some ways, but after a few months, she came to be my favorite teacher. Ever. I think of her often...she was a teacher who really made a difference in my life.

♥ Tell me about one pivotal moment in your life.
My Salvation. 2 mos before I turned 16, I accepted for myself, that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. But, it wasn't all that easy. I had internal struggles about why I even existed. Even tried to take my own life. But, God spared me. A few weeks after that incident, Adam, a friend from my high school, invited me to a Bible Study and then to Youth Group. On our way home from Youth Group, Adam shared with me that I couldn't earn my way to heaven by good works - Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." This is a "short" version of my story...but, it was the MOST pivotal moment in my life. Accepting the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ...believing that He paid the debt I owed for my sin...death. Trusting that His blood covered my sins and instead of being condemned to an eternity separated from God in Hell when I die, I will be eternally with my Savior in Heaven. Not only did I have hope for the future...my eternal destiny, but I had hope for the present, that God would be my guide, my strength, my hope, my all...and I would have not only eternal life, but abundant life, as well.

♥ About favorite colors--a lot of people will ask you what it is, but I want to know why it is. What feeling or memory does it evoke?
I don't really have a favorite color...and here's WHY...I love them all. I can't think of a certain color that produces a certain feeling. Color in general can evoke a myriad of feelings and memories. Here's one...I actually hate the combination of bright red and bright green. It's the cheesey-ness of Christmas...cheap and commercialized. Being married around Christmas proved that I do like "Christmas Colors," though - just not so chinsy...Deep Purple, Rust, Dark Golds and Rich Greens...that gives me a peaceful feeling and reminds me of the day I married my best friend. If you named any color...I could probably tell you how it makes me feel or what it makes me think of.

♥ What's a sure sign that you're getting older?
I can't remember how old I am...seriously. I have to ask my husband most of the time. But, for now...I remember. Twenty....Seven...yes, that's it. ;)

♥ Please don't sermonize, but Halloween--is it a yes or no for you?
No sermons! Bummer. ;) Ok, ok...well...um...sorta, but not really?? This is tough one to answer. Clearly, I enjoy fall: pumpkins (even CARVING them), Apples (Cider, Pie, etc), Harvest...but, I'm not into the traditions of scary things...like dead people and spirits and ghosts and whatnot...been there, done that. NOT doing it again. NOT smart. NOT cool. TOO real. And I'm sorry...hope this isn't "sermonizing," it's just what I stand for...that stuff is too real to be messing with. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12.

♥ What's your favorite musical?
I'd HAVE to say "Music Man."

♥ Are you more of a city mouse or country mouse?
Kind of in the middle. I like aspects of both.

♥ Did you know that it is possible, for a small fee, to name a real star after someone? (It's true! Google it!) If someone were to name a star for you, would you appreciate it for its whimsy and romance, or would you say, "Are you kidding me? For $19.95 we could have gone to the movie and actually bought popcorn."
Yes, I did know that...and I would think it was sooo romantical and whimsical. Love that kind of stuff. And we'd go to a movie and buy popcorn just to celebrate it! :)

♥ What's the craziest thing you've ever been doing and texted during it?
I hate to say it, but "Driving". I know. BOOOOOORRRR-ING! Not crazy, and probably illegal. :S

♥ "It's not a party unless _______."
It's 1999? I dunno...it just came to me. ;) Not the exact words, but, eh...whatev. I guess I would also say "It's not a party unless you invite me." :) Ha! I'm so full of it!

♥ When you're stuck in traffic or a waiting room, what do you do to pass the time? PS: There are no magazines available.
Call someone, get on the internet on my phone or text. So, what I'm saying is, I'd DIE without my phone.

♥ If you weren't yourself, would you be friends with you?
Psshhhh-YA! Check out my answer to "It's not a party unless..." I mean, yeah...I was KINDA joking, but...if I was honest, I love a good party any day! And I would so hang out with me at a party, too. I really like everyone...so, how could I not include myself??? I'd feel so bad if I didn't include me! Not to mention, we (me & me) have so much in common! The only time it'd be rough is if I was flirting with my husband, then I'd be jealous of myself.

And because a post is ALWAYS better with a picture...

My favorite part of this post is that glorious smile at the end.

My salvation is definitely the biggest -- most glorious and important -- pivotal moment in my life, but I have written about it so often, every one who reads my blog regularly knows the story by heart.

Sarah, great answers although at 27 you're WAY too young to be forgetting your age! Let's call it post-pregnancy, not age!

I've gotten to where I don't even use the cell phone in the car because I have an almost-driver coming along...and it's amazing how knowing my hypocrisy will be exposed keeps me straight! Ha!

Beautiful photo, of course!

and I'm a Dec anniversary too!

Forgetting your age is only the beginning...once you have more than one child you start forgetting everyone's names too. You remember useless info and forget the important stuff...good times getting old. I love all your answers. You are too funny. Your pivotal moment is awesome!
Cute picture...so true every post must have a picture.

LOVE that picture of Josefine! What an adorable smile!

#2 - made me tear up!

#5 - I know it wasn't a sermon but AMEN SISTER! Part of the reason we don't do trick or treating is because of all the scary stuff out there; I don't want my 3 year old being traumatized. And then to a greater extent - why would you even WANT to dress up as a witch or a corpse or *shudder* the devil?? That's trekking into dangerous territory. So I totally get you on this question!

So funny......I always have to remind myself how old I am too....I used to be like I am 13 & 5/8. Fer reals.

We "do" trick or treat...but that is the best reason I have ever heard for not trick or treating. Growing up we were ABSOLUTELY NO Halloween-- it was the devil, and that was okay with me...but it was really embarassing to have to sit in the hall while my classmates had a halloween party. It was horrible. Especially since I couldn't give a good explanation of why I was sitting in the hallway. You've given me something to think about.

Loved reading the small excerpt of your testimony.

And the smile at the end makes the post!

Always fun to read, Sarah.

Salvation is always a sweet story, and when you're old enough to have 'been around the block' God's grace is sweeter still (I was 22+).

You're funny about getting old. I actually told the doc the wrong age when I was having my first prenatal visit with Molly (wasn't a good mental math day I guess!)

Oh, and Halloween - that was a good non-preachy summary. Why would we want to 'celebrate' such darkness?

You have such a treasure with all those Josephine smiles you've captured! =)

Fun post, Sarah. :)

I forget my age, too. :( Have been for a few years now... I had to think really hard about it on Sunday. For a moment I could have sworn I was 27. Now that you've reminded me of your age, I'm sure I'm only 26. Whew. Thanks. ;)

Such fun answers! You seriously cracked me up with some of them :-) And the photo at the end? Priceless!

Totally cracked me up when you said, "we (me & me) have so much in common!" I agree, it's like I always say, "I talk to myself AND answer myself. After all who knows what I'm talking about better than me?"

Love the picture of Josefine.

I loved your answers about color. Who would think such a simple question would evoke such a thoughtful answer.

Love your answers! And I adore that photo of Josefine. I'm the same way about Halloween. It comes with the fall season and that's what I love about it. I'm not big on scary things or events either.
