Much Ado About Diapers, My Washer, Food (or not), Rain & Gum

  • Today was the first day in the history of my life that I purchased diapers. For a baby shower. And they're pricey, but necessary, which is what makes them an awesome baby shower gift.
  • My washer danced around the room today because it's off balance and because I'm not sure how to fix it, I stood there, bracing each side of the washer until it was done with the spin cycle.
  • I'm not going to tell you what I had for lunch. According to a book title about blogs, you're not interested.
  • I'm making Jim's favorite, Lasagna, for dinner. But, shhh. It's a surprise. And it's the easiest, fastest and yummiest lasagna recipe EVER. Not like you care any more about my dinner as you do about my lunch.
  • I haven't had to water the flowers or our garden for weeks. Thanks to the abundant supply of rain around here. Some farmers might not see it as such a convenience, though.
  • I had my friend Hanna over for lunch yesterday. She brought over a super tasty side dish of potato salad. Another easy, tasty recipe I'm sure to try out myself. Apparently, I can't resist telling you about yesterday's lunch. But, I'm still not telling you about today's.
  • Recently, I tried out a new flavor of Orbit Gum. It's the Pomegranate flavored one, and after about 30 chews, it turns to mush. I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, that's about all the nothing I can come up with for now. I'm off! Cheerio!

Pomegranate gum? That doesn't even sound good. LOL. Peppermint all the way. I should know. I estimate that I spend probably $300/year on gum. Yeesh. Don't tell Art.

Okay...to help you out with the washer thing...you just open the lid and redistribute the clothes until it balances out properly...much easier than dancing with your washer (but not as fun)...

What is the name of the book? "I don't care what you had for lunch"? Because I DO care what you had for lunch...I'm sure you would make it very interesting! ;-)

Pomegranate Punch to be specific...by Orbit...it sounds nasty, but it's pretty tasty, if you like sweet, fruity things like that...My first choice is generally cinnamon, but I've branched out lately. :)

About my dancing washer, Tara...we originally thought the clothes were off-kilter, but it's actually the washer itself (Jim moved it about 2 feet and the floor is uneven there) and I wasn't strong enough to lift it and put something under its feet to make it happy again. So, I just danced with it. When Jim got home that night, though, he took the level and put it in it's rightful, balanced place!

Oh...and I had homemade potato salad for lunch that day...to which I added WAY too much garlic and onions and had raunchy breath to deal with for the rest of the day! I also 1/2 of a ham and cheese sandwich that Jim made with the bread that I successfully squished coming home from the grocery store, so it was more like a 1/4 sandwich. And we had "green stuff," a traditional Engle jell-o type salad (that you make with Green Jell-o, of course). It needed to be eaten...it had been leftover so long that I think it was earning it's title status as "Green Stuff" in more ways then one...it would have soon been more like "Fuzzy Green Stuff." It's a really good side-dish though...and it gets better as it chills. Mmm.

Well, you'll just have to try it then...that is...the Engle Green Stuff. I wouldn't recommend the extra garlic and onion potato salad though! :) But the Green Stuff has always proven to be a party favorite and we bring it to every fellowship we've been to. And we never have to eat the leftovers ourselves because we ALWAYS come home with an empty casserole dish! :) But the reason we had this particular issue with leftover Green Stuff is because I BEGGED Jim to make it for me just because, to which he replied "What? Make Green Stuff for no apparent occasion?" I answer, "The occasion is that I feel like eating it...does that count?" He laughed and made the Green Stuff (he LIKES to cook) and because it's just the two of us, we had more than enough!
