Rand♥m D♥zen: Livin' in the Fast Lane & A Star Wars Character Wannabe

1. If you could master one sport, what would it be?
Well, I've always been intrigued by diving, although I can barely (if at all) do a flip off the diving board! I can pull-off a mean Swan Dive, though! :D

2. When you make a major purchase, do you go with your gut instinct, or do you do research to make an informed decision?
Mostly the gut. That's why I married my husband, though. ;)

3. There is an old kids' game that says you can find out what your movie star name would be by using your middle name as your first name and the name of the street you grew up on as your last. What is your movie star name?
Haha! I've heard this before, only it was your "soap opera" name - same diff. though. Mine would be Elizabeth Elm.

4. Would you rather give up your favorite music or your favorite food?
Music, totally. Okay, maybe not totally. Hmmm, ok, fine. Food. Music can't make me gain weight. :P

5. There are two types of banana preferences. One is pristine yellow, almost to the point of being green; the other is spotty and more ripe. Which is your preference?
Spotty and more ripe...

6. Your favorite tree is?
Hmmm...I have this really cute Weeping Pussy Willow in our front yard...we planted it and have watched it grow for the past year-ish...love it!

7. On a scale of 1-10, how tech savvy are you?
Hmmm, humbly - 6 (but, I probably could go 6.5).

8. Has H1N1 touched your family?
Surprising, no. We're currently living near a college campus (it's been pretty heavy here) and my hubby works on campus, so it's really a surprise we haven't seen it in our home yet. Phew...knock on wood. ;) But, at the same time, it's not really, really surprising, b/c I make Jim wash his hands every milli-second when he comes home for lunch and such.

9. Are you an analytical person, or do you just accept things the way they are without questioning or scrutinizing?
Both. I'm analytically accepting.

10. Is your personality more like that of a dog, cat, or Koala?
Probably more like a dog for their friendliness. I hear Koala's are M-E-A-N!

11. Do you keep in touch with friends you made years ago?
I try and it's always a blessing when I do!

12. You are checking out at a grocery store. In the express lane, there are more people than the regular lanes, but of course, their load is less than those in the regular lanes. Which lane do you choose (assuming you qualify for the express lane) and why?
I have a pet peeve about people using the Express Lane that have a CARTFULL! I'm kind of weird about my lane choice, too. I like to strategize - so, I'll observe for a few seconds before deciding...does that cashier look slow? Is that man writing a CHECK!? Does that motorized wheelchair look low on voltage...ok, ok, just kidding on that last one. Sort of. Sometimes, Jim and I will make a game of it to see who gets out first. Here's my favorite strategy: if there are a bajillion people in line, I hover at the back, because you know that someone will call for "help at the registers" and you'll be "next" in line when the new checker guy shows up! Muahahahaha!

On a completely *random* note: This picture totally makes me think of Star Wars! Ha!

Rand♥m D♥zen: Heeere Fishy Fishy

♥ What was the last song you listened to?
My Jesus I Love Thee - the closing Hymn tonight at prayer meeting.

♥ Have you ever had “buyer’s remorse” over anything?
Maybe - but not enough to remember it. I usually enjoy what I buy...even if I feel a leeeetle guitly. ;)

♥ What is something in your life that you are thankful for now that you didn’t think you would be at the time of the event? (Something that seemed ill-timed, inconvenient or hurtful which turned out to be a good thing)
Being disciplined as a child...I'm SURE I needed it and I'm sure it's done some good.

♥ Do you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade every year? If so, do you have a favorite float or balloon?
I don't watch it every year, but does that mean I can't have a favorite float??? Well, I'm telling you my favorite float anyways. The Big Snoopy!

♥ Share a quote, scripture, poem or lyric which has been an inspiration to you lately.
"Knees out, tuck in, shoulders back, and 1..." - and it's only day 2 of TTapp Bootcamp. :P

♥ This is meant to be a fun question, and this is a G-rated blog, but please share a “guilty pleasure,” something that you enjoy that’s probably not the most edifying, time-worthy or healthy thing you could be indulging in. Did I mention this blog is rated G?
Uh, I dunno...blogging? ;)

♥ What Thanksgiving food are you looking forward to?
The leftover turkey for turkey sandwiches...although, I'm not sure I'm going to LOVE it this year, since last year I had super bad first trimester (and then some) sickness and puked up an entire turkey sandwich...I'm sure Jim won't be so fond of the memory himself, since he cleaned it up for me. *sigh* My hero...

♥ What is your favorite book to read to children, or what was your favorite childhood book?
"The Tale of Three Trees" always chokes me up. I love reading this one and gifting it to others. My favorite children's book growing up was "There's a Monster at the End of This Book." - by Grover.

♥ Do you collect anything? (Feel free to post a photo.)
Pictures...I have to admit...I collect pictures. Shocking, I know.

Here's one that I haven't posted yet...I don't know why I didn't. It's so...huge. The tree...me... :) I didn't realize how much I liked this picture until now, actually. I do like the ginormous tree and that The Hubs and I are Matchy. I also need to clarify that I was only a few weeks away from having Josefine...hence, the preggo hugeness. I love it.

Cambridge VBS etc. 094

♥ Gift bags or wrapping paper?
Oh, I stink at wrapping gifts. Gift bags all the way!

♥ Share an after-school memory from when you were younger. What was your routine like on an average day?
Walk home (eyeing the neighbor kids house-who I had a huge crush on), have a snack (Little Debbie Star Crunch...Mmmm) and listen to music in my room. Probably pretended I was Whitney Houston or Garth Brooks or something.

♥ True story: Once, in a job interview, I was asked this question and told there would be no clarifying; I simply had to answer the question: “When you’re fishing, do you feel for the fish?” So what about you? Do you feel for the fish??
Definitely FEEL for the fish. I'm all about feelings. Ask my hubby...he's all about the technical...and I can catch a good fish based on feelings, yo.

And for some Feel Good Fishy Pics...

Jim got me a PINK POLE! I think I had to feel less for the fish, since they were so drawn to the HOTT pink of my pole. BTW, I'm not able to stand while fishing here...my feet were s-w-o-l-l-e-n.

Cambridge VBS etc. 138

Later - we went fishing in the dark...hmmm...sounds like a song??? ;) Why do I have so many preggo fishing pics, you ask? Because we knew as soon as Josefine was born, things like that would be but a blur. And they were...she was born on June 29, and ever since, I have wondered where summer has gone. ;) Not wasted, that's for sure - just dedicated to a tiny little bundle of love, love, love! Ok...bunny trail...here are s'more fishy pics.

*NOTE: I caught them BOTH! Yeeee!

Oooh, CRAZY Red-Eyed Fish Lady!

Fishing in the Dark 007

Fishy #2

Fishing in the Dark 011

Dem waz big fishes...and tasty, too.

Fishing in the Dark 016

We don't need to go fishing anymore anyway. Josefine seems to be our own little fishy!
But, don't worry...we won't eat her.

Josefine Sept 13 -11wks- 15 061

And more fishy tendancies from Josefine...

Rand♥m D♥zen: The One Where I Admit I'm a Lover of Bell Bottoms.

♥ It's early morning, about 2:00AM, and you're driving home. You come to a red light and sit there. There is no one in sight for miles around. Do you wait it out or run the light?
Ok, this has actually happened to me before...and I ran the light. But, that was in High School. I don't think I could do it, now...couldn't do it.

♥ If you had the chance to re-do the last 24 hours, would you change anything?
Hmmm, I was going to say "yes," that I would change my planning skills and actually had ALL of dinner ready for our company tonight instead of serving them each course separately, but now that I think of it, it was quite fun. So, I wouldn't change it...nope, not at all. Really, I can't think of anything I would change.

♥ When you reply to someone's comment on your blog, do you reply in your comments or go to her blog and comment? (Or email her)
I go to their blog and comment on one of their posts since I know they'll get it. Not everyone subscribes to the whole "being notified of any comments following yours" thing. I mean, I don't...it's kind of annoying to get a bajillion notifs in my email.

♥ Your favorite Disney movie is: Beauty & The Beast

♥ Do you recycle?
Aw, MAN! Did you have to ask this? Because the answer is "no, absolutely not." Although I can see why it would be good...I just don't. I don't have any reason that I don't except that I'm lazy, really. I hear that it's a must in Germany, though - so I'd better learn!

♥ Games of strategy or games of chance?
Both - I like both.

♥ Do you have any recurring dreams?
When I'm sick I have this dream that I'm in some sort of factory where they're producing huge pillowy things that seem to suffocate me. It's weird. Been having those since I was, like, six.

♥ What did you learn from your first real job?
That's it's not as easy as it looks to make perfect swirly soft-serve ice cream cones...

♥Do you buy or borrow most books?
Buy. I like to have them on hand to read again...and I also enjoy loaning out books to the borrowers.

♥ What fashion trend of the past did you say you'd never wear again but did?
Well, I'm 28 years old, so I haven't really lived many "fasion conscience" years...I mean, nothing as really changed SO much that I'd care. Really, all the things I would avoid from my past haven't made any comebacks yet...well, they haven't come back to ME anyway. Sidenote: if you knew me in college - then you might recall that I adore vintage clothes. If I was about 20 lbs lighter, I'd still be wearing them! I ♥ Bell Bottoms!

♥ When do you start Christmas shopping?
When I see something I know someone will just love...anytime of the year. Although, the gift usually never makes it to Christmas unless I happen to find it in December.

♥ Have you ever been so happy that you literally jumped up and down for a few seconds? If so, what was the occasion?
Ok, this is gonna sound weird, but when I finally got out of an on-again, off-again relationship. I was elated. I was squealing. Freedom from self never felt so good. Or possibly the last time I got a Trivial Pursuit question right.

And because I just couldn't resist...

Rand♥m D♥zen: Me & Me Meme

♥ Tell me something about your favorite teacher.
Honestly, I couldn't stand her at first. Because she called me out on the first day of class for chewing gum. She was my high school English teacher. She was tough in some ways, but after a few months, she came to be my favorite teacher. Ever. I think of her often...she was a teacher who really made a difference in my life.

♥ Tell me about one pivotal moment in your life.
My Salvation. 2 mos before I turned 16, I accepted for myself, that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. But, it wasn't all that easy. I had internal struggles about why I even existed. Even tried to take my own life. But, God spared me. A few weeks after that incident, Adam, a friend from my high school, invited me to a Bible Study and then to Youth Group. On our way home from Youth Group, Adam shared with me that I couldn't earn my way to heaven by good works - Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." This is a "short" version of my story...but, it was the MOST pivotal moment in my life. Accepting the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ...believing that He paid the debt I owed for my sin...death. Trusting that His blood covered my sins and instead of being condemned to an eternity separated from God in Hell when I die, I will be eternally with my Savior in Heaven. Not only did I have hope for the future...my eternal destiny, but I had hope for the present, that God would be my guide, my strength, my hope, my all...and I would have not only eternal life, but abundant life, as well.

♥ About favorite colors--a lot of people will ask you what it is, but I want to know why it is. What feeling or memory does it evoke?
I don't really have a favorite color...and here's WHY...I love them all. I can't think of a certain color that produces a certain feeling. Color in general can evoke a myriad of feelings and memories. Here's one...I actually hate the combination of bright red and bright green. It's the cheesey-ness of Christmas...cheap and commercialized. Being married around Christmas proved that I do like "Christmas Colors," though - just not so chinsy...Deep Purple, Rust, Dark Golds and Rich Greens...that gives me a peaceful feeling and reminds me of the day I married my best friend. If you named any color...I could probably tell you how it makes me feel or what it makes me think of.

♥ What's a sure sign that you're getting older?
I can't remember how old I am...seriously. I have to ask my husband most of the time. But, for now...I remember. Twenty....Seven...yes, that's it. ;)

♥ Please don't sermonize, but Halloween--is it a yes or no for you?
No sermons! Bummer. ;) Ok, ok...well...um...sorta, but not really?? This is tough one to answer. Clearly, I enjoy fall: pumpkins (even CARVING them), Apples (Cider, Pie, etc), Harvest...but, I'm not into the traditions of scary things...like dead people and spirits and ghosts and whatnot...been there, done that. NOT doing it again. NOT smart. NOT cool. TOO real. And I'm sorry...hope this isn't "sermonizing," it's just what I stand for...that stuff is too real to be messing with. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12.

♥ What's your favorite musical?
I'd HAVE to say "Music Man."

♥ Are you more of a city mouse or country mouse?
Kind of in the middle. I like aspects of both.

♥ Did you know that it is possible, for a small fee, to name a real star after someone? (It's true! Google it!) If someone were to name a star for you, would you appreciate it for its whimsy and romance, or would you say, "Are you kidding me? For $19.95 we could have gone to the movie and actually bought popcorn."
Yes, I did know that...and I would think it was sooo romantical and whimsical. Love that kind of stuff. And we'd go to a movie and buy popcorn just to celebrate it! :)

♥ What's the craziest thing you've ever been doing and texted during it?
I hate to say it, but "Driving". I know. BOOOOOORRRR-ING! Not crazy, and probably illegal. :S

♥ "It's not a party unless _______."
It's 1999? I dunno...it just came to me. ;) Not the exact words, but, eh...whatev. I guess I would also say "It's not a party unless you invite me." :) Ha! I'm so full of it!

♥ When you're stuck in traffic or a waiting room, what do you do to pass the time? PS: There are no magazines available.
Call someone, get on the internet on my phone or text. So, what I'm saying is, I'd DIE without my phone.

♥ If you weren't yourself, would you be friends with you?
Psshhhh-YA! Check out my answer to "It's not a party unless..." I mean, yeah...I was KINDA joking, but...if I was honest, I love a good party any day! And I would so hang out with me at a party, too. I really like everyone...so, how could I not include myself??? I'd feel so bad if I didn't include me! Not to mention, we (me & me) have so much in common! The only time it'd be rough is if I was flirting with my husband, then I'd be jealous of myself.

And because a post is ALWAYS better with a picture...

Rand♥m D♥zen: Huggermugger Defined

♥ Candy corn: Your thoughts?

A used-to-be Favorite...now, they stick in my teeth and make them *ouch* hurt. :(

♥ Briefly, what was the first conversation you ever had with your spouse? (or best friend, if you're not married.) (Or someone significant, like your librarian.)

See THIS post. :)

♥ Could you ever become a vegetarian?

Ummm, no. I'm a carnivore...*crunch*

♥ Have you ever dressed up your pet in a costume?

Not unless draping a blanket over the dog so he runs into walls counts.

♥ Name something about childhood that you miss (like Clark Bars, Teaberry Gum, Malibu Barbie, cracking fake eggs on people's heads with your fist and "It's the Great Pumpkin" airing only once a year).

Riding my bike, EVERY DAY. Just for fun and not excercise.

♥ Have you ever won a trophy? If not, what do you deserve a trophy for?

I've won "participation" trophies, but I don't think that counts, cause participation is easy. Hmmm, can't think of anything off the top of my head, so I guess I get to make something up! Yeeee!

I think I would earn a trophy for "time spent trying to remember what I was going to do and forgetting altogether what I was going to do, so I never get it done, until I realize later what I was going to do and by then, it's too late."

♥ When do you think is the appropriate time to begin playing Christmas music each year?

I know I'm going to have a lot of "balkers" at this answer, but I'm not HUGE on Christmas music, and I think it's particularly ANNOYING when they start playing Christmas music in Department Stores BEFORE Thanksgiving. That's not to say that I personally like to play Christmas music after Thanksgiving, either. It's just what I can tolerate in public. Although, now that I think of it, it's been a growing-up tradition to put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving, so I guess, if the tree goes up, the music can play. But, I betcha my hubby will be the one to turn it on. And in case you were wondering, I do have a Favorite Christmas Hymn "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel."

♥ What's your favorite board game?

Huggermugger...hands down. Love it.

huggermugger

" A cross between Trivial Pursuit and Word Games. 'Mystery Word' is revealed as players solve other word puzzles often in the form of a trivia question. Different categories require different types of questions answered. A good derivation."

♥ How do you feel about surprises (receiving, not giving)?

Surprises are my favorites! I do love a good surprise any day!

♥ Is it easy for you to say, "I'm sorry?"

Let's just say that I'm a little over-apologetic. Most of my friends know this...I was once called the "Queen of Sorry" (not the game, although my husband might attest to THAT one). But, on a serious note, it's not hard to apologize. If I'm wrong about something, someone deserves to hear my admittance and apology. To me, it's only right. Saying "I'm Sorry" and asking for forgiveness is a huge part of growing in holiness...and humility.

♥ What is your favorite candle scent?

Honestly, I don't think I have one, really. It's been awhile since I've lit scented candles for the scent. But, for the Bath & Bodyworks plug-in scenty thingy, I'm all about the 'clean linen' type scents.

♥ October is traditionally "open house" time in public schools. If you had a literal open house in your home (like a reception) what light snacks would you serve visitors and what would you show them (as in art projects, graded papers) that would uniquely represent you?

Well, I have a 4 month old, so it would be much like a 'baby shower' in theme and snacks.

Now, If I was the student, I'd do a German theme with Germany desserts/snacks and a 'trip to Germany' presentation, etc. I mean, we pretty much do that every weekend we're out for meetings, but hey...that would represent us! :)

And of course...what kind of post would this be if I didn't include a picture???

Rand♥m D♥zen: The Thing that Happened with the TV Finally Comes Out

♥ I've always wondered why we were taught both printing and cursive. Do you prefer to print or write cursive? (Keyboard is not a choice.)
Both...I can't write exclusively in cursive or in print...it requires too much concentration.

♥ Are you a dreamer or a realist?
Pssshhh, TOTALLY a dreamer. All. The. Way.
When I was, like, 10 I would day dream about marrying one of the New Kids on the Block. Joey specifically.

♥ Billy Joel or Elton John?
Ooh, ooh, I know these people! ;) Totally Billy Joel. Just love the close harmony of his music..."And so it goes." Is a personal fave.

♥ What is the scariest movie you've ever seen?
Well, besides the fact that I HATE scary movies...I have nightmares...and won't sleep, I'd have to say that there was this one movie I saw growing up...something about this monster all cut up in pieces in a garbage bag in this house...goodness, I still have visions of it. Creep-y. Oh, and The Fly...I snuck into the living room once when the 'rents were watching it. Bad idea...nightmares for-ever about my arm getting ripped off by a giant fly. Oh, and another I WON'T forget...that one Star Trek movie where earwigs infest these people. To this day, I HATE earwigs...blegh.

♥ Now what is the scariest real-life moment you've had?
Hmmm...well, when I was 8 or 9, my cousin and I decided to go outside late at night. My dad came to get us, and because he didn't SAY anything and just walked outside toward us, we thought he was a...I don't know what we thought he was...we were scared, though. And we ran like the Charles Dickens and and sca-reamed so loud...the neighbors came out of their houses and my grandma came traipsing down the stairs in her nightgown swearing, y'all. My grandma was swearing. And we got into BIG FAT trouble.

I know, I know...lame answer - but since I was thinking about my childhood, that's what I thought of.

♥ What word do you misspell without fail?
"definitely"...I always spell it "definately" - I'm workin' on it, though. Definitely.

♥ Name something you like to do but are not really talented or good at?
Pretty much everything. You could call me a "Jane" of all trades, master of none. :) I LIKE doing lotsa things, but am hardly really good at all of them.

♥ Do you get your emotional/mental batteries recharged by being around people or by having alone time?
Being around people. Totally. And definitely.

♥ Have you ever been on TV?
No, but a TV has been on me. Once, in college a TV FELL ON MY HEAD, people. You heard me right...on.my.head. But, I'm ok...really. Definitely ok.

Not exactly how you expected me to answer, huh?

♥ Apple or pumpkin pie? (Don't be greedy.)
I'm sorry, but I just have to. "Radio" is one of my fave movies...

"Ah want bowf..."

♥ How many magazine subscriptions do you have?
None...we move too much. :)

♥ What lesson do you have to keep re-learning?
Trust. Trusting God, trusting my hubby, trust all around. I'm such a control-freak, as we learned from last weeks Random Dozen, that trust is a huge, huge issue.

And because a post is ALWAYS better with a picture...

One of my latest from The Josefine Collection...

Rand♥m D♥zen: Hall and Who???

Hey Random Dozen Friends! It's late as I type this. I mostly type things late, anyway - so excuse my answers if they're....weird. Hehe.

♥ On an average, how often do you splurge and buy something for yourself?
Whenever I go to Michael's Craft Store, or shop on Etsy...which is pretty much, monthly.

♥ Are you more like Hall or Oates? Eh? I could google these names, but I'm too lazy. Just kidding. Real question: What is the last creative project you began/finished? Feel free to post a pic of it.
Ummm, goodess. I started knitting this adorable purse LAST YEAR. And started knitting Josefine a cable blanket (also LAST YEAR).

♥ OK, Goldie Locks, do you consider your house too big, too little or juuuust right?
Just right...anywhere God puts me is just right... :)

♥ What is your favorite outdoor chore?
Photoshoots! I know it prbly doesn't fit into the "chore" category, but it's my favorite thing to do outside...I don't think I've done an outdoor chore for sometime now...being on the road - we can't have a thriving garden - but, if we did, I'd say my favorite outdoor "chore" would be harvesting the fruits (or veggies) of our labors!

♥ If you knew that cigarette smoking was not bad for your health but would be a weight loss tool, would you use it? Why or why not?
Since you put it like that - if it wasn't bad for ones health - then, would it be a disgusting habit??? I'd say, if it wasn't bad for my health, I'd probably try it for weight loss...I dunno. Wait, though. I guess you didn't say it wasn't still addicting and smelly. I mean, it IS still smoke. So, probably not. ~I'm so wishy-washy, I know. But, that's my answer and I'm stickin' to it. ;)

♥ On a road trip, would you rather drive or ride?
My life is road trip - and I'm all about riding and not driving!

♥ What do you consider a trivial pursuit?
What's trivial to one person may actually be really important to another person. Like Sky Diving, for instance. I would NEVER, EVER do it. Stu-pid, in my (trivial) opinion. My hubby, on the other hand, would do it in an instant...if I let him. ;)

♥ How long do you watch a movie or read a book before giving up on it?
If it's inappropriate in the least - I don't wait it out. Not me...not in my house. Uh-uh. So, so, so serious about that. But, if it's just boring or stupid...I might wait it out, cause ya never know if something interesting might happen!

♥ Is there a song that you really love but are embarrassed to admit because it's not cool or it's racy or because it's by Hall and Oates?
I don't think I'm embarrassed to admit that I like any song...and WHO are Hall & Oates again??? But, I do love the Beach Boys...that may be something my friends would be surprised about...perhaps.

♥ On a scale of 1-10 (10 = extremely) how spontaneous are you?
8.5
I'm spontaneous to a degree...but, I have my limits, too.

♥ Are you a food and/or beverage snob?
Before my pregnancy...neither. Now, things just don't taste the same. But, if I were more picky about one of the other, I'd say "beverage."

♥ Who/What are you trying to control in your life?
This took some serious introspection. Probably everything. If I know myself and admit what's true...I'm a control freak, through and through. It's a good thing I have God's grace - that sustains me and reminds me daily that I'm not in control...He is. And He is trustworthy...I can trust Him with the "everything" I often try to control myself. And in that daily recognition that God is fully capable, I'm humbled and enjoy learning that flexibility is key in trusting...letting go...and not "needing" to be in control.

Thanks for that last question, Linda. :) I needed that.

...and because a post is ALWAYS better with (another) picture...

Rand♥m D♥zen

So, I didn't "Mr. Linky" my last random (half) dozen...oops. Linking this time, folks. More Random Dozen fun for everyone...right. :)

♥ Tell me the absolute best way to watch a movie.
With the projector! It's like being at a theatre, but in the comfort of your own home!

♥ Do you ever think about your own funeral? If so, do you have specific ideas about how you would like it to be?
I don't think I ever really have thought of my own funeral. I'm an "in the moment" kind of girl...and I'm not in that particular moment right now. I'll think about it when I'm "in the moment."

♥ Are you more of a giver or a taker?
Love, love, love giving gifts...love, love, love recieving gifts. Eh, I'm human.

♥ Vacations: planned activities and schedules, or play it by ear?
I totally play it by ear. It's my hubby that needs to plan and schedule.

♥ What is one often overlooked item in your home that needs to be cleaned regularly?
Um, the dishes? Sorry folks, I can't lie. I HATE doing the dishes. I overlook them on purpose. VERY on purpose.

♥ Name a cause that means a lot to you.
Ok, this might sound really lame...because it's not your average "charity"...but, my friends. I love doing things for the cause of my friends. If they have a business, I like to support it and encourage them...that's just one example. I would call them "personal causes."

♥ Do you eat a regular old peanut butter jelly sandwich, or do you customize it? And by the way, jelly or no jelly?
Peanut Butter on BOTH sides of the bread, please. AND LOTS of Jelly (dripping from the sides)...Strawberry or Grape.

♥ If we were having a conversation in person, how would I know if you were nervous?
I would say so! :)

♥ Do you have an elaborate bedtime routine, or just the basics of tooth brushing and jammies?
Bedtime? What's that? Ok, ok...lemme think. Well, I check my email, blogs, etc. Usually in my Jammies...now you all know...and then I brush my teeth (Aquafresh Extreme, please), and fill a glass of ice cold water so it can sit on my nightstand all night and sweat and drip all over the surface of the nightstand, leaving a ring to greet me in the morning...I have, like, thirty rings on my nightstand.

♥ Have you ever regretted something you wrote on your blog?
I regret writing really long, boring, stupid and pointless posts that no one will ever read! But, eh...what's said is said.

♥ Has anyone ever told you that you look like a famous person or celebrity? Did you agree?
I've been told I look like a bystander on "Serendipity." No one really famous. I don't remember if I agreed. I'll have to see the movie again. Oh, here's a more "official" one. When I chopped my hair off, people said I looked like Halle Berry. And when it was growing out, Rhianna. I agreed that the hair was the same...that's 'bout it.

♥ If you were going to dedicate a song to a loved one or friend, what would the song be and to whom would it be dedicated?
To My Jim:

I love you, I love you, I love you so well. If I had a peanut, I'd give you the shell.
I love you, I love you, with whole heart and soul. If I had a donut, I'd give you the hole.

From Songs that Tickle Your Silly Bone
a record (you heard that right RECORD) he had when he was 3 years old.

Coffee Break

I'm seeing a theme today...

Coffee. I'm not even a coffee drinker, really. Only socially. And if then, it's either some fancy-schmancy not-even-really-coffee drink (Caramel Latte, anyone?) or just a cup of Plain Jane BLACK coffee (hold the sugar and cream).

And because I've seen four posts that have the word "coffee" in it - 5 posts, people, count 'em - I decided to jump on the caffeinated bandwagon...

1. Chrysanthemama is hosting a giveaway to celebrate fall. She's giving away a bag of Starbucks House Blend Coffee...check it out!

2. Katie & 3. Amy have been enjoying a litte meme fun with 4. Linda from 2nd Cup of Coffee with her "Random Dozen" Questions.

5. My friend, Jenna is chronicling her husbands experiment with Coffee.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now - for MY Random *1/2* Dozen (only going to answer 6 of 12 questions today to keep the length tolerable thanks to my -lengthy- introduction).
♥ Please share one middle school memory. It can be good, bad, ugly, funny. Pictures or words, I don't care, just share.
Ummmm, I had braces in middle school. But, I wasn't ashamed. I was VERY proud of my braces. During Homecoming week I decided to have the rubber bands on my braces match my school colors (black & gold). Let's just say that the memory is more embarrasing after the fact since we all know what YELLOW rubber bands on braces start to look like after, oh, an hour.
♥ What's your favorite Beatles song?
My sister and I sing "Do You Want to Know a Secret" to eachother just to be annoying. Good times. Not to mention, my mom was/is an AVID Beatles fan. I couldn't escape it- even if I tried - but, I don't think I would have tried. I like them, too.
♥ If I asked you to describe your most comfortable outfit, what would it be?
My Favorite Jeans - which, sadly, now have a malfunction with the zipper...a cami with a zipped-up hoodie.
♥ Would you rather host a party or be a guest?
Mmmm, both. I LOVE hosting and planning, but I also enjoy being a guest... :)
♥ Do you think we will move completely from traditional books to digital ones, and if we do, are you OK with that?
Hope it never happens. There's just something about holding a book in your hands while you read that makes it so real, makes you so there and part of the story. I would NOT be OK with digi-books...I just made that word up...has a nice ring to it. I still don't support them.
♥ Do you learn best by reading, listening or experiencing?
All of the above...but mostly EXPERIENCE. I haven't even read the manual for my camera yet...but, in the past year of using it, I've learned a TON about photography. Don't ask me ANY technical question, though.
